About Forever Living Products
Founded in 1978, Forever Living Products (FLP) led the way in the rediscovery of the health benefits of aloe vera. The company now trades in 160 countries, with sales of $2.5bn. FLP is the largest grower, processor, and distributor of aloe vera products. The company controls the processes of growth, manufacture, and distribution so as to ensure the highest quality of product. Each product has a 30 day money back guarantee.  It was also the first company to be awarded the International Aloe Science Council’s Seal of Approval.
Neither the products nor their ingredients have been tested on animals and many products can be used on animals. Aloe vera contains 200 active compounds, and 75 nutrients. It has been used as an aid to health for centuries.
The products are not listed medicines, neither for humans nor animals and it is not promoted as such. They are meant to be used in conjunction with medication, not instead of it. The topical products are specifically used for skin ailments and are recommended for reducing the sensitivity of their skin and the oral products are generally used but is not limited to improve digestion.
Dr David Urch, a UK vet, has written a book about the use of aloe vera in veterinary practise. It is called Aloe Vera, Nature’s Gift. He explains in detail the properties of aloe vera and how it can be used on animals. He includes many before and after photographs. An interesting historical note is that when he started researching the use of aloe vera on animals he realised that the plant is depicted at the top of the veterinary crest in the hand of the cenotaph. Aloe vera’s outstanding health properties have been known for a long time!
The Benefits of using Aloe Products on your Pet
Skin Problems:  Aloe Vera is an excellent preparation to use for skin conditions such as allergies, abscesses, fungal infections, pyoderma, and many types of dermatitis. The oral gel can be given in the food, and the topical varieties applied directly to the skin. Aloe Vera will decrease inflammation as well as helping to remove dead cells and discharges. It will encourage a suitable environment for regeneration of cells so aiding the healing of wounds.
Wounds and Burns:   These respond particularly well to Aloe Vera. For a wound or burn to heal effectively it must be kept clean and moist with a supply of nutrients. It will also require air and may need protecting. Take care when removing dressings not to damage new cells. Aloe Vera can aid the natural healing processes and help secure the above objectives.
Digestive System:   Aloe Vera can prove very beneficial in helping conditions of the digestive system, particularly where inflammation is involved. Conditions such as stomatitis, gingivitis, and oral ulceration can all be helped with aloe Vera.
The most useful preparations for use in the mouth are those that are spray based and the gelly. More serious conditions such as vomiting and diarrhoea also often respond to oral administration of Aloe Vera Gel combined with bland diets. Remember that all products must be used in conjunction with medication or veterinary advice and not instead of.
Immune System:     A number of animal diseases have their origin in the immune system. The most common are asthma, hay fever, rhinitis, arthritis, and lupus. The oral administration of Aloe Vera can be useful in chronic immunological problems.
Ear and Eye Problems:   One of the most common ear conditions is otitis externa where infection and inflammation develop in the vertical and horizontal ear canals. These are often mixed infections of mites, bacteria, fungi, and yeasts and may also involve foreign bodies such as grass seeds. Aloe Vera gel, Gelly and in combination with Bee Propolis can be very useful in treating this condition. Always ensure that a vet sees the ear so that causes such as foreign objects and tumours can be dealt with if present.
Eye conditions are potentially more serious and should always be examined by a vet. A dilute solution of Aloe Vera can be helpful for conjunctivitis and keratitis.
Here with a list of all the products available to you and your pets for use of the above ailments:
1 Aloe Sunscreen (118ml
This shields skin from the effects of over-exposure to sun and wind. It can be used on ear-tips and noses to protect and soothe. It also cools and moisturises. It is high protection factor (SPF) 30.
2 Aloe Vera Gel and Berry Nectar (1 litre)
Aloe vera drinks are liquid dietary foods consisting of the stabilised inner leaf gel only. The outer leaf and laxative aloin are not included in the product. These gels are suitable for all - humans and animals. They may be added to the animals’ food, or given to them in water.
The Aloe Gel is plain aloe gel, and the Berry Nectar has cranberry and apple juices added to the aloe gel. This increases the level of vitamin C, and helps with urinary tract infections. Both drinks have a tonic effect, maintaining healthy digestive system and appetite, suppleness of joints, and revitalising energy levels. Aloe vera also has a soothing effect, acting to reduce the animal’s sensitivity to external irritants and promotes healthy skin, working from the inside out.
3 Aloe Liquid Soap (473ml)       Topical product
Rich in soothing aloe vera, this ‘no tears’ formula is excellent for bathing animals.  It will remove mud, and is gentle enough to use on delicate skin. It cleans without causing irritation, making it suitable for sensitive or itchy skins.
4 Aloe Propolis Crème (118ml)

This is a thick topical gel that soothes skin irritations, including minor cuts, stings, and abrasions, and  lubricates and soothes wounded tissue in sensitive areas. It has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, and its highly penetrative properties can also help reduce excessive ‘proud flesh’ and ease soreness caused by bit-rubbing.
6 Aloe Veterinary Formula (473ml)
High in stabilised aloe vera gel, with a nozzle applicator, this liquid can be sprayed directly on to tender areas on the animal to irritations or cleanse before dressing a wound, or applying Aloe Vera Gelly. It can also be sprayed on to the animal’s coat after bathing for extra shine and condition. It can be used to soothe legs after heavy exercise.
7 Aloe-Jojoba Shampoo (296ml)
Aloe vera adds its soothing and strong anti-fungal properties to this mild, deep cleansing shampoo. Combined with moisturising and conditioning properties of jojoba oil, it will also leave your animal’s coats, manes, and tails tangle free and shining.
8 Aloe Heat Lotion (118ml)
This is aloe vera in a heat producing formulation, encouraging blood supply to the area of application. It is suitable for use where increased circulation would be beneficial, and is particularly useful for its soothing action on joints, ligaments, and muscles. In animals it is essential to apply it directly on to skin, and not on to hair.
9 Aloe MSM (118ml)
This is a fast-acting soothing gel formulation suitable for topical application to joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles. Methysulphonylmethane (MSM) is a rich source of organic sulphur needed for optimal function of connective tissues and joints. MSM maintains joint fluid as well as naturally regenerating the articular cartilage. In animals it needs to be applied directly to the skin and not on hair.
10 Forever Freedom (1 litre)

Our Teeth and the role of Aloe Vera in oral hygiene

Why are my teeth so important?

Your teeth vary in shape and size depending on where they are in your mouth. These differences allow the teeth to do many different jobs. Teeth help us to chew and digest food. They help us to talk, and to pronounce different sounds clearly. Finally, teeth help to give our face its shape. A healthy smile can be a great asset; and because this is so important, it makes sense to give your teeth the best care possible.

So What can go wrong?

Tooth decay can be painful and lead to fillings, crowns or inlays. If tooth decay is not treated, the nerve of the tooth can become infected and die, causing an abscess. This may then need root canal treatment or even for the tooth to be removed. It is very important that you keep up a good routine at home to keep your teeth and gums healthy. Gum disease is common and, if left untreated, may lead to bone loss around the teeth. In some cases it may lead to loose teeth and teeth being lost. Gum disease is preventable. It can be treated and kept under control with regular cleaning sessions and check-ups, preventing further problems. If teeth are lost, it may be necessary to fill the gaps with bridges, dentures or implants.

How do I keep my teeth and gums healthy?

It is easy to get your mouth clean and healthy, and keep it that way. A simple routine can help prevent most dental problems:
  • brushing your teeth last thing at night and at least one other time during the day, with a fluoride toothpaste
  • cleaning between the teeth with ‘interdental' brushes or floss at least once a day
  • good eating habits - having sugary foods and drinks less often
So How can Aloe Vera help look after your teeth ?
It can help reduce dental plaque

Tooth decay and diseases of the gum are very common health problems. One of the best ways to prevent this from happening is to reduce the buildup of plaque (bacterial biofilms) on the teeth. In a mouth rinse study of 300 healthy people, 100% pure Aloe Vera juice was compared to the standard mouthwash ingredient chlorhexidineAfter 4 days of use, the Aloe Vera mouth rinse was found to be just as effective as chlorhexidine in reducing dental plaque Another study found similar benefits of Aloe Vera mouth rinse when used over a 15- to 30-day period .
Aloe Vera does this by killing the plaque-producing bacterium Streptococcus mutansin the mouth, as well as the yeast Candida albicans .
Helps treat mouth ulcers
Many people have experienced mouth ulcers, at some point in their lives. They usually form underneath the lip, inside the mouth, and last for about 7-10 days. Studies have convincingly shown that Aloe Vera treatment can accelerate the healing of mouth ulcers.

Helps treat Gingivitis

Gingivitis is a common disorder of the gums that causes inflammation of the gingiva, the gum tissue that surrounds the teeth. Symptoms include swelling and tenderness of the gums as well as bleeding. This condition is due to the build up of bacterial plaque. Without daily proper removal of the bacteria, it accumulates on and around teeth, which produces enzymes and toxins causing the inflammation of gingiva. This condition not only causes pain, but also can cause the teeth to decay and the bones that support teeth to deteriorate. Aloe Vera works to kill the bacteria that cause gingivitis, preventing plaque from building up on the gingiva.

Helps Bad Breath

Aloe Vera works as a natural remedy for bad breath that is caused by harmful bacteria and fungus in the mouth as well as digestive problems. Aloe Vera kills theses harmful bacteria and fungus while promoting healthy digestion. It also helps protect the soft tissues of the oral cavity, reducing the likelihood of bad breath.
Aloe Vera and Gum Disease
Periodontal disease and gingivitis can raise the risks of developing heart disease, strokes, diabetes and lung infections. This is due to the harmful oral bacteria invading veins and arteries causing arterial plaque build up and inflammation.
Using Aloe Vera oral care products can reduce the risks of developing these dangerous oral diseases, which can lead to serious disorders. Periodontal disease also can affect blood sugar levels. If the oral bacteria are spread through the blood stream, the body becomes confused. This can affect proper blood sugar levels, resulting in diabetes. Harmful bacteria that grows within the oral cavity can also be breathed in, which can cause infection of the lungs, resulting in pneumonia or other lung problems. Using Aloe Vera oral care products daily can offer the healthy benefits of protection, prevention and healing of oral conditions that can lead to more serious disorders.

Aloe Vera Oral Care Products

Aloe Vera products for oral health include toothpaste, mouthwash and dental floss. Unlike regular toothpaste, Aloe Vera tooth gel is nonabrasive, which is ideal for those with sensitive teeth. It also cleanses and soothes the gums and teeth. It contains no bleaching agents, fluoride or harsh chemicals, making it a natural product that helps prevent and treat dental problems as well as whitens teeth naturally. Aloe Vera mouthwash is ideal for daily use to keep gums and oral mucosa healthy. Aloe Vera dental floss soothes gums while flossing, providing this potent natural substance in hard-to-reach areas. Using all three of these types of products in daily dental care is ensuring that teeth and gums will remain healthy, which may reduce the need for those dreaded dentist visits. This product is not only to be used on humans but can also be used on your family pets to help look after their teeth and gums too . For just under £6.00 can afford to be without yours ?.

The role Aloe Vera has in summer skin care

Summer is here!

Who doesn’t want to be outside, sunbathing, swimming, playing catch on the beach  or just have a BBQ in your garden? While summer means fun in the sun, make sure you’re not getting  too much of a good thing. Avoid consequences of  overexposure to the sun like sunburns, premature  ageing of the skin, wrinkling, and skin cancer, including melanoma by practising proper sun  protection.

Sunscreen Protection

Use sunscreen with sun protective factor (SPF) 15 or higher, and both UVA and UVB  protection.  · Sunscreen wears off. Put it on again if you  stay out in the sun for more than two hours, and after you swim or do things that make  you sweat.

So the sun is out and You lie out in the sun hoping to get a golden tan, but instead walk away from your lounge chair looking like a lobster that's been left in the pot too long.
Despite health warnings about sun damage, many of us still subject our skin to the sun's burning rays.
More than one-third of adults and nearly 70% of children admit they've gotten sunburned within the past year
Forever living has fantastic sunscreen protection products . It comes in a spray bottle and also a cream formulation
  • SPF 30 with full-spectrum UVA & UVB protection
  • Very water resistant

What Causes Sunburn

You already know the simple explanation behind sunburn. When your skin is exposed to the sun for a period of time, eventually it burns, turning red and irritated.
Under the skin, things get a little more complicated. The sun gives off three wavelengths of ultraviolet light:
  • UVA
  • UVB
  • UVC
UVC light doesn't reach the Earth's surface. The other two types of ultraviolet light not only reach your beach towel, but they penetrate your skin. Skin damage is caused by both UVA and UVB rays.
Sunburn is the most obvious sign that you've been sitting outside for too long. But sun damage isn't always visible. Under the surface, ultraviolet light can alter your DNA, prematurely ageing your skin. Over time, DNA damage can contribute to skin cancers, including deadly melanoma.
How soon a sunburn begins depends on:
  • Your skin type
  • The sun's intensity
  • How long you're exposed to the sun

Signs of Sunburn

When you get a sunburn, your skin turns red and hurts. If the burn is severe, you can develop swelling and sunburn blisters. You may even feel like you have the flu -- feverish, with chills, nausea, headache, and weakness.
A few days later, your skin will start peeling and itching as your body tries to rid itself of sun-damaged cells.
Treatment
Aloe vera is touted as the “burn plant,” the perfect natural remedy for a bad sunburn, and according to some studies aloe vera can help. Initial research has shown aloe vera aids the skin in healing from sunburns and mild burns.
Aloe First
This exclusive skin soothing formula is an excellent first step for soothing minor skin irritations. Formulated in a base of stabilized Aloe Vera Gel, Aloe First® contains Bee Propolis, Allantoin and eleven exclusive plant extracts:
  • Bee Propolis increases the natural skin-soothing and cleansing properties of the Aloe Vera Gel.

Aloe Vera and the Immune System

The immune system, which is made up of special cells, proteins, tissues, and organs, defends people against germs and microorganisms every day. In most cases, the immune system does a great job of keeping people healthy and preventing infections. But sometimes problems with the immune system can lead to illness and infection.

    About the Immune System

The immune system is the body's defence against infectious organisms and other invaders. Through a series of steps called the immune response, the immune system attacks organisms and substances that invade body systems and cause disease.
The immune system is made up of a network of cells, tissues, and organs that work together to protect the body. One of the important cells involved are white blood cells, also called leukocytes, which come in two basic types that combine to seek out and destroy disease-causing organisms or substances.
Leukocytes are produced or stored in many locations in the body, including the thymus, spleen, and bone marrow. For this reason, they're called the lymphoid organs. There are also clumps of lymphoid tissue throughout the body, primarily as lymph nodes, that house the leukocytes.
The leukocytes circulate through the body between the organs and nodes via lymphatic vessels and blood vessels. In this way, the immune system works in a coordinated manner to monitor the body for germs or substances that might cause problems.
The two basic types of leukocytes are:
    1. phagocytes, cells that chew up invading organisms
    2. lymphocytes, cells that allow the body to remember and recognise previous invaders and help the body destroy them

    Aloe Vera Helps Immune System

Aloe also seems to be excellent at regulating the immune system (an immunomodulator). This means it can both stimulate the immune response for those with weakened immune systems either from existing conditions or post-illness fatigue. It can also calm the immune response, such as for hay fever where less immune reaction is beneficial. Various research studies are underway to explore the potential of the components to boost immunity. It may even have a role to play in managing diabetes. Numerous studies worldwide indicate that it is a general tonic for the immune system, helping it to fight illness of all kinds. Over 200 worldwide scientific research papers have been published on the effects. The three main categories of research include anti-inflammatory, anti- bacterial, and anti-viral actions of the plant. The juice is said to soothe digestive tract irritations such as colitis, ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome. It's ability to encourage the release of pepsin (a gastric juice enzyme necessary for digestion) when the stomach is full is a possible reason for its ulcer-healing effects.
Your health and physical well being is threatened by a reduced immune system.
Obviously, you have to do something to ensure that you boost your immunity and keep your body strong so that it can fight disease and keep them off.
    But, what can you do?
One popular and effective way of increasing your immunity to illness is by drinking aloe Vera gel.

Forever Living Aloe Vera Gel provides natural support for the immune system.
Since the immune system works around the clock protecting the body, aloe Vera, with its natural immune enhancers, gives the body a continual arsenal from which to draw.

The Menopause and the benefit of Aloe Vera

    What is the Menopause

The menopause is a natural phenomenon which occurs in all women when their finite number of ovarian follicles becomes depleted. As a result, Oestrogen and progesterone hormone levels fall, and luteinising hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) increase in response. Menstruation becomes erratic and eventually stops.

Menopausal symptoms are attributed to tissue sensitivity to lower Oestrogen levels. This primarily affects the oestrogen receptors in the brain. The experience of women varies widely, with some being debilitated and others unaffected by their symptoms. Some women experience symptoms while still menstruating and others not until a year or more after their last period.
Around 80% of women going through their menopause experience symptoms and around a quarter have severe symptoms but only a small proportion of menopausal women take hormone replacement therapy (HRT).Symptoms of the menopause last far longer than most women anticipate; frequent menopausal vasomotor symptoms, including night sweats and hot flushes, persist in more than half of women for more than seven years.
    Symptoms
    1. Menstrual irregularity
    2. Hot Flushes and Sweats
    3. Urinary and Vaginal Symptoms
    4. Sleep Disturbance
    5. Mood Changes
    6. Loss of Libido
Other changes may include brittle nails , hair loss, thinning of the skin and general aches and pains which are due to falling oestrogen levels .

For all these issues and much more , that's why Aloe Vera is the perfect Anti-dote

    So What Can Help ?

    1. Aloe Vera Berry Nectar , This contains cranberry which is a known great natural remedy for urinary tract infection and also helpful in balancing hormonal changes . It contains 100%stabilised Aloe Vera .
    2. Forever Royal Jelly , this is a favourite among women, by helping maintain healthy skin and also to balance the hormonal system.
    3. Forever Arctic Sea Omega 3, this contains Omega 3 and Omega 9 which helps to reduce bad cholesterol and contribute to a better cardiovascular system .
    4. Forever Nature Min , this supplement provides 11 minerals including Calcium, Magnesium and Phosphorus which are important to help strengthen bones.
